Essence & Gold Country Releases "Good Mom," an Anthem for the Beautiful Chaos of Modern Motherhood
New Single from Blue Élan Records Debut Album "Father's Daughter" Is the Song Every Mom Has Been Waiting For
San Francisco, CA, March 26, 2026— Essence & Gold Country, the Americana roots project of acclaimed San Francisco singer-songwriter Essence Goldman, announces the release of her new single "Good Mom.” Co-written with Roger Rocha (4 Non Blondes) and Becka Barnett, the song is a rollicking, laugh-out-loud celebration of modern motherhood in all its gloriously imperfect, beautiful chaos. Warm, honest, and impossible not to sing along to, "Good Mom" is the anthem moms everywhere have been waiting for.
“I smile every time I sing this song because it captures the honesty and imperfections of motherhood. Being a Mom doesn’t mean we no longer want to have fun," Essence, the mother of two, adds. "In addition to being cooks, drivers, teachers, nurses, and psychologists, Moms are lovers and dreamers. We have mountains to climb, a planet to save, and along the way we want to have some fun!"
"Good Mom" appears on Father's Daughter, Essence & Gold Country's debut album just released on Blue Élan Records. Produced by David Simon-Baker (Nicki Bluhm / ALO) and recorded live at Allegiant Records in Marin County, the album is steeped in the storytelling traditions of John Prine, Dolly Parton, Lucinda Williams, and Gillian Welch, and has drawn praise from the San Francisco Chronicle and Pacific Sun.
Essence Goldman is available for interviews.
