The Wreckless Strangers Release Witty New Single “Alexa” Exploring the Human Relationship with Technology

Friday, May 6, 2022, San Francisco, CA…“Alexa,” the fourth single release from the Wreckless Strangers’ upcoming album, When the Sun and a Blue Star Collide, is available today on all streaming platforms.

Alexa, co-written by band members Amber Morris (vocals) and Austin DeLone (keys), is a fun, parody tune inspired by society’s dependence on and affection for technology. Amber reflects, “‘Alexa" makes light of just how seductive technology is to us. The listener believes a normal romantic relationship between two humans is being depicted, but the punchline is...it’s Alexa, the Amazon appliance. I think I was laughing out loud during the entire writing process on this one!”

The album, produced by Colin Linden, GRAMMY-winning producer/artist and renowned guitarist, is scheduled for release on May 20, 2022.

Melody Maker Magazine has applauded the band’s unique artistry, "Their brand of California Americana Soul is the end result of six superb musicians coming together with top-shelf material that echoes the past without ever imitating it."
