Jupiter Band Instruments Welcomes Wake Forest University’s Dr. Timothy Heath as Newest Educational Artist

MOUNT JULIET, TN - December 11, 2025 — Jupiter Band Instruments is proud to announce conductor, educator, and percussionist Dr. Timothy Heath as its newest educational artist. A highly respected leader in the band community, Dr. Heath brings a dynamic blend of musicianship, educational excellence, and artistic vision to the Jupiter brand.

Dr. Heath serves as Director of Bands and Associate Teaching Professor of Music at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he oversees the university’s band program and teaches courses in conducting and music literature. Beyond campus, he is the Music Director of the Triad Area Medical Orchestra and Founder/Music Director of NexTonal, a chamber winds ensemble known for its innovative programming. He is an active freelance conductor and percussionist, regularly performing with prominent ensembles such as the Piedmont Wind Symphony, Winston-Salem Symphony, Tuscaloosa Symphony, Greensboro Philharmonia, and more.

Dr. Heath’s work as a clinician, adjudicator, and researcher has been featured at major state, national, and international conferences. In addition, his writing has appeared in leading publications including The Instrumentalist, the National Band Association Journal, and Percussive Notes.

Dr. Heath’s Jupiter instruments of choice include the JTR1100SQ Trumpet, JTR1110RSQ Trumpet, JTU1110 Tuba, JTU1140 Tuba, and JEP1105M Marching Euphonium.

Dr. Heath holds degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and The University of Alabama, as well as a Professional Artist Certificate in Conducting from the UNC School of the Arts. He is also an active member of numerous professional organizations, including CBDNA, NAfME, and WASBE.
