Highway Wolf Spotlights W.O.L.F. Sanctuary: Where Wolves Find a Place to Belong

San Francisco, CA | October 19, 2026… Highway Wolf’s Howling for a Cause initiative continues this month with a spotlight on W.O.L.F. (Wolves Offered Life & Friendship) Sanctuary. They provide lifelong care for animals who are too wild to live as domestic pets, yet too accustomed to human care to survive in the wild. From its permanent sanctuary site in the foothills of Northern Colorado, W.O.L.F. creates safe, natural habitats where these animals can receive the veterinary care, enrichment, companionship, and protection they need to thrive.

The organization’s work rests on three pillars: Rescue, Sanctuary, and Education. W.O.L.F. responds to urgent calls across North America, helping wolves and wolf dogs find safe placement through its rescue network or a permanent home at the sanctuary. Through hands-on and virtual education programs, W.O.L.F. also helps students and communities better understand wolf behavior, captive-born animals, wild wolf conservation, and the importance of coexistence. Each year, W.O.L.F. assists more than 160 wolf dogs through rescue and placement and reaches hundreds of students through its education programs. By combining rescue and lifelong sanctuary with education, advocacy, and conservation partnerships, W.O.L.F. is working toward a future where these animals are better understood and protected.

Highway Wolf is donating 100% of the proceeds from purchases of their W.O.L.F. Sanctuary 'Protect the Pack' Spotlight T-Shirt directly to the sanctuary. “Highway Wolf was created around the idea that we are never truly alone, and that the connections we build can help create change,” shares Mick Hellman. “We’re proud to use our platform to introduce our community to W.O.L.F. as they are working every day to give these animals a second chance.”  Highway Wolf invites music fans and wildlife advocates to support W.O.L.F. through donations, membership, volunteering, food donations, matching gifts, or by becoming a Lifetime Defender with a monthly gift.
