Wreckless Strangers Channel Chris Stapleton in Bluesy Second Single Release, Covering “Ain’t No Thing”

Friday, March 4, 2022, San Francisco, CA — Wreckless Strangers, NorCal Americana troubadours noted for their prolific songwriting, surprise fans with a cover for their second single, “Ain't No Thing.” Penned by Chris Stapleton and John Scott Sherrill, and recorded by Bucky Covington, this is a song the band was eager to make their own when they first heard Wynnona & The Big Noise perform it at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. This is the second single from Wreckless Strangers’ upcoming album, When the Sun and a Blue Star Collide, scheduled for release on May 20, 2022. The album was produced by GRAMMY-winning and nine-time Juno Award-winning Colin Linden.

“I came across “Ain’t No Thing” when I was still pretty new to the band,” shares singer Amber Morris. “Mick [Mick Hellman, drummer] and I were sharing playlists back and forth in search of a gem for me to cover. When we discovered “Ain’t No Thing” the whole band was into it! I found out that Chris Stapleton co-wrote this tune and that was the cherry on top! The song is a gas to play – our Wreckless fans love the huge energy, huge vocals, huge guitars, and huge attitude! What’s not to love?!”

The Sound Cafe premiered “Ain’t No Thing'' yesterday. Complimenting the Wreckless Strangers' natural ability to stretch musical boundaries, “The Wreckless Strangers’ music echoes their California Americana beginnings, while exploring endless combinations of the unique qualities of rock, country, soul and roots.” (The Sound Cafe)
