Jack Biilmann Releases New Album Move The Mountains
Australian Americana Artist Delivers Project Rooted in Resilience, Family, and Purpose
CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA via Nashville — Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist Jack Biilmann announces the upcoming release of his sixth studio album, Move The Mountains, out worldwide on September 25, 2026. A deeply personal collection that melds his blues, rock and country influences into an Americana album that showcases his most confident and revealing songwriting to date.
Move The Mountains documents a pivotal chapter of Biilmann's life from challenges to triumphs. “I'll be forever proud of the songs on this record and the journey,” says Biilmann. “I feel like this is the best music I've ever written.” After five albums, years of relentless touring, and a commitment to continually evolving as a musician and songwriter, he says the experience has brought him to a new creative peak.
The album is a snapshot of life in his thirties, exploring the triumphs and challenges that come with growing older while navigating love, heartbreak, betrayal, disappointment, helplessness, appreciation, and the independent, “outlaw” spirit that has long defined him.
“Dark Days” is one of the most emotionally revealing songs on album. Biilmann wrote it during an extraordinarily difficult 12-month period that included two miscarriages with his wife, her cancer procedure while pregnant, his father’s diagnosis with motor neuron disease, a close friend’s cancer diagnosis, and the painful end of a friendship following betrayal. Today, the perspective is different: Biilmann is the father of a baby boy, his wife is healthy, his father’s condition is stable, and life has found firmer ground. Musically, he mirrors that journey with dramatic shifts between sparse, vulnerable passages and waves of intense energy. Layered instrumentation, raw vocals, and deeply personal lyrics capture the emotional weight of that period while ultimately offering a message of resilience.
“I always write with the intention to share stories that have made me feel something,” says Biilmann. “The goal was to tell these stories, write the most appropriate and thoughtful lyrics I could, use my voice and guitar to expose the emotions behind each song, and lean on my band to get the most out of each track.”
That philosophy has fueled a career built on hard work, staying power, and constant self-development. With millions of streams, national chart success, major festival appearances, endorsements from Fender and Maton Guitars, and praise from blues icon Joe Bonamassa, Biilmann has established himself as one of Australia's most accomplished independent blues, rock, and country artists. With that strong foundation at home, he is poised to take his music to audiences around the world.
Biilmann is currently on a nationwide tour in Australia with plans for a US tour in 2027. He is available for interviews.
