Highway Wolf Delivers Musical Magic on Friday the 13th with New Single "Back in the High Life Again"

San Francisco, CA, October 13th, 2023…Highway Wolf, the unique musical project led by the multi-talented Mick Hellman, known for his contributions to bands like Wreckless Strangers, Marco & the Polos, and The Go To Hell Man Band, has released "Back in the High Life Again." This is the third single off Highway Wolf's forthcoming album, Purdie's Dream, a collection of soulful covers that capture the essence of timeless classics and the effect they had on Mick throughout his life.

While some may find Friday the 13th to be a day steeped in superstition, this release is nothing to be spooked about. In fact, "Back in the High Life Again" is set to delight listeners with a dose of musical nostalgia. Reflecting on the song, Mick shared, “Sometimes we get to travel back to a shinier, brighter part of our lives and re-make ties that got frayed or broken. In our version of “Back in the High Life Again” we navigated between the very upbeat Steve Winwood version and the somber variant from Warren Zevon, inspiring our version to have a J. J. Cale feel, done over a hopping country train groove."

As with their previous singles, Highway Wolf has collaborated with local San Francisco artists to create the cover art accompanying each song. For "Back in the High Life Again," the talented Ryann Swan has crafted a beautiful depiction of a howling wolf on the top of a steep cliff.

Highway Wolf's unique interpretation of "Back in the High Life Again" promises to captivate listeners with its fresh take on this beloved classic, blending elements of different genres to create a truly memorable rendition.
