From the Front Lines to the Spotlight: Israeli Country Artist Omer Netzer Debuts Soul-Stirring Nashville Single “Midnight Blue” Out May 30
NASHVILLE, TN | Israeli singer-songwriter Omer Netzer has walked an extraordinary path from serving on the front lines during the October 2023 attacks in Israel to launching his American country music career in Nashville. Now, he’s introducing himself to U.S. audiences with “Midnight Blue,” a haunting, emotionally rich ballad set for release on May 30.
Produced by David “Messy” Mescon (known for his work with Dasha, Megan Moroney, and Tigirlily Gold), “Midnight Blue” is the lead single from Netzer’s upcoming project and marks a major milestone in his musical journey. Already a celebrated artist in his home country, Netzer brings a global perspective, raw honesty, and a soul-deep voice to the country music scene in Nashville.
Inspired by a vivid dream, “Midnight Blue” was born from a striking image: “I had a dream about an empty house with only pictures and memories left behind,” Netzer recalls. “That image stayed with me, and from it came the line, ‘my sun set when I lost you, now every night feels like midnight blue.’”
That haunting lyric became the emotional foundation of the song. Co-written with Nashville songwriter Stephen Hunley, “Midnight Blue” reflects on the sacrifices made in pursuit of ambition and the lingering grief that can follow. “Sometimes people sacrifice the thing they love the most for their ambitions,” Netzer explains. “This song is about the kind of loss that doesn’t go away, even when the stage lights turn off.” With his distinctive, emotionally charged vocals, Netzer delivers the song with strength and sincerity. The track’s standout steel guitar infuses it with a warm, timeless country sound, layered with subtle blues influences, which perfectly complement the story it tells.
“Midnight Blue” is available for pre-save now and officially releases on May 30.
About Omer Netzer:
Omer Netzer isn’t your average country artist. Born in Nahariya, Israel, he has lived a life as textured as his music. A former combat medic, chart-topping recording artist, equine therapist, and military veteran, Netzer returned to active duty after the October 7 attacks, serving a second combat tour before relocating to Nashville in early 2024. Since arriving, he’s signed with Oscar Chavira at White Knuckle Productions, performed on sought-after stages like Whiskey Jam and CMA Fest (becoming the first Israeli artist to do so), and stunned industry executives at Country Radio Seminar with just his voice and an acoustic guitar. He is now working closely with producer David “Messy” Mescon (Megan Moroney, Nicki Minaj, Tigirlily Gold) to craft an EP that introduces his unique blend of country, southern rock, and soul to a wider audience. Omer Netzer’s music doesn’t just tell stories, it builds bridges. With grit, gratitude, and a voice full of heart, he’s proving the American dream is not only alive, it sings.
