Chicago Symphony Percussionist Vadim Karpinos Joins Majestic Percussion Artist Roster

MOUNT JULIET, TN - June 10, 2025 — Majestic Percussion proudly announces the addition of renowned percussionist Vadim Karpinos to its esteemed artist roster. The distinguished orchestral and solo percussionist will perform on Majestic snare drums and the M8650H 5.0 Octave Professional Rosewood Marimba, joining a global community of artists who trust Majestic’s instruments for their sound, craftsmanship, and reliability.

Appointed to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 2001 by Maestro Daniel Barenboim, Karpinos brings decades of orchestral, solo, and chamber music experience to this collaboration. His dynamic technique and expressive musicality make him an ideal ambassador for Majestic’s handcrafted percussion instruments.

Born in Kiev, Ukraine, and raised in New York, Karpinos studied at the Manhattan School of Music under Christopher Lamb, Duncan Patton, and Don Liuzzi. A Tanglewood fellow, he has performed with a long list of prestigious ensembles including the New York Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, New York City Opera, Grant Park Symphony, and Rhode Island Philharmonic.

Karpinos has appeared as a soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and regularly shares his expertise as an educator and clinician. He serves on the faculty of Roosevelt University, sits on the board of advisors for The New Music School in Chicago, and gives percussion clinics worldwide.

A decorated performer, Karpinos has received honors such as the Louis Smadbeck Scholarship, Dr. Randolph Goodman Award, Morton Gould Memorial Award, and the ASCAP Leiber and Stoller Scholarship. He is a past winner of the Soviet Union’s Young Virtuoso Competition and several concerto competitions.
