Believe Music Heals Launches Mission to Help a Dying Mom Record a Lasting Message of Love for Her Son
NORWICH, CT (May 19, 2026) – Believe Music Heals, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing healing through music, is raising funds to travel to Norwich, Connecticut, to help a terminally ill mother fulfill her greatest wish.
Marcy, a devoted single mother facing terminal brain cancer, hopes to create a deeply personal musical gift for her son, Adrian. Her dream is to write and record a song for her son Adrian that will let her voice and love live on through music, for the days and nights to come when she won't be there in person.
Marcy and her son, Adrian
At the heart of the project is the belief that music can preserve a person’s humanity in a powerful and lasting way. For Adrian, the finished song will become a permanent expression of his mother’s love that he can carry with him throughout his life. The organization hopes the project will remind others that even in the face of illness and loss, creativity can still offer hope, meaning, and emotional connection.
Founded by acclaimed Americana artist Essence Goldman, Believe Music Heals uses the power of music to bring healing, connection, and hope to people facing life’s hardest moments. The organization is raising funds to travel to Marcy’s home in Norwich, Connecticut, where Goldman and board member Danny Uzilevsky will help her write and professionally record a song for Adrian using a mobile studio setup.
Goldman’s work as an artist under Essence & Gold Country, including her album “Father’s Daughter,” reflects her broader background in music creation and storytelling that centers on human experience and emotional truth. That artistic foundation informs the hands-on approach behind Believe Music Heals, where music is not only produced as a finished work, but shaped in real time with the individuals whose stories it holds.
“Music is one of the few things that can outlive us,” said Goldman. “Long after memories fade, a voice can still comfort, guide, and remind someone they were loved.”
Believe Music Heals is seeking community support to help make this bedside recording journey possible. Funds raised for this project will cover airfare, accommodations, meals, and all production costs, ensuring that Marcy can direct every ounce of her energy toward what matters most: her son, her love, and her legacy.
